Julia Adams-Scheurich is the Owner and Director of Government Relations at Oak City Government Relations, LLC. She was most recently the Director of Government Relations for The Arc of North Carolina for the past 10 years as well as a contract lobbyist for many interests before the NC General Assembly; and she is ranked as one of the most influential lobbyists in North Carolina by the nonpartisan North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research. Julia began her career in policy and advocacy working to promote inclusion in the arts in North Carolina. Her career spans both campaign work as a member of the field staff for Erskine Bowles in 2004 and lobbying on policy issues in the field of education, health care, housing, social justice policy for people with disabilities, ethics reform and voting rights.

Jona Alborn is the Social Services Director for Liberty Home Care and Hospice, where she coordinates, trains, directs and facilitates with patient care coordinators and operations managers the care in 27 home care and 21 hospice offices. She has extensive experience in providing social work interventions and years of practice in grief and bereavement care. She has shared her passion for people as a Hospice Social Worker for 24 years. Jona received her Bachelors of Social Work degree from Weber State University in Ogden Utah and her Masters of Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill. She received hospice certification in Advanced Palliative and Hospice Social Worker in February 2019.

Dr. Michael Blackstone is the co-founder and CEO of SutureHealth, which launched SutureSign, the leading electronic signature solution for healthcare, in 2012. He earned his medical degree at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA and subsequently trained at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics program. Dissatisfied with the growing paperwork burden placed upon physicians and their staff, he started SutureSign - an electronic medical document exchange designed to reduce that burden and help physicians capture lost signature-related revenue, ultimately making electronic signature work for both physicians and agencies.

Michael Blackstone, MD

Tracy Colvard is the VP of Government Relations and Public Policy with the Association for Home and Hospice Care of NC. Prior to joining the Association back in early November of 2007, Tracy worked for the NC Division of Medical Assistance or better known as the state Medicaid office for almost 10 years serving as a CAP/DA Consultant for the first seven years and more recently working as the state’s PCS, PCS-Plus, CAP/DA, and CAP/Choice Manager. Tracy began his career in home care at Ashe Services for Aging in rural NC while working as a Social Work case manager and Supervisor for CAP/DA and their large in-home aide program. Tracy also does contracting lobbying for various clients before the North Carolina General Assembly and Congress.

Marcylle has over 30 years in home health care and hospice, holding many positions including field nurse, director, administrator and owner/president of a successful home health and hospice company. In 2018 Marcylle sold her business to embark on new opportunities. She has since founded 3 companies, serving as President over MAC Legacy, The Marcylle Combs Company, and MAC Legacy Investments.

Marcylle is well known in Texas and nationally for her leadership in both the home care and hospice community. She serves on the board of directors for The Home Care and Hospice Financial Managers Association (HHFMA); a professional organization bringing together CFOs, CEOs, COOs and other financial positions who are employed by the nation’s 25,000 home care and hospice agencies.  She also chairs the Women in Leadership Committee for HHFMA.  She enjoys speaking on a national level regarding various subjects such as leadership and mentoring.

Catherine is a senior leader in our industry having run multi-service line multi-location continuum of home health and hospice agencies including founding, growing, optimizing and ultimately selling a large hospice organization in Louisiana. Fazzi is honored to have Catherine work with us as a Director of Hospice and Palliative Care in serving providers across the country. Her work, specifically, focuses on educational development, optimizing organizational design, operational efficiency, advanced clinical modeling and quality improvement programs, and assisting organizations in achieving best practice clinical and financial performance. As a hospice and palliative care certified nurse and certified hospice case manager, Catherine reaches into the hospice philosophy, integrating a strong set of core values, focused on the people we serve, into smart and sustainable business models.

Lindsay is the Director of Education at Fazzi. In her role, Lindsay directs Fazzi's Distance Learning programs. The Fazzi Learning Center encompasses Fazzi's portfolio of OASIS training, testing and certification programs, the gold standard of OASIS competence and the largest OASIS testing service in the nation. Prior to working at Fazzi, Lindsay managed the Online and International Programs for the University of Massachusetts Amherst and also worked as a marketing consultant for the tourism board in Bessines, France.

In her current role as the CEO of Savii, Kristen is executing a vision to bring human-focused innovation to the needs of post-acute care agencies. Kelly Grahovac serves as a Senior Consultant for The van Halem Group where she focuses on audits, appeals, education and training across multiple lines of business and various specialties. Kelly uses her 16+ years of experience in Medicare regulations to assist providers as they navigate the ever-changing healthcare payor landscape. Kelly is a known lecturer in the industry, speaking at national conferences, state associations, and for private events. In addition, Kelly is a common contributor to a variety of industry publications.
